WWE recently wrapped up its Survivor Series event, so now's the best time for Capcom to reveal a team battle concept of its own for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.

World Wrestling Entertainment is no stranger to tag team matches, especially multi-time tag team champions The New Day. That's why Capcom reached out to Xavier Woods to deliver an announcement about a new game mode for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, to help make this the best Rusev Day ever!

Woods went on his UpUpDownDown YouTube channel to reveal Team Versus Mode. This introduces team multiplayer for up to teams of five, with customization options allowing for a "Best of" series or for an "SNK vs. Capcom" style Elimination format. Other aspects of the fight, including health recovery, V-Gauge, and bot difficulty can also be set.

More details can be found on Capcom-Unity or you can simply watch the UpUpDownDown video below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

That should make tournaments even more fun. I like when they do it anyway, but with it built into the game it will feel like something people train to do instead of a fun side event.

Nice and unexpected addition, should make for some better team based events.

No online functionality, however. Lots of options to customize, though. You could theoretically turn SFV into a KoF14 style 3v3 multi-character type experience even in a 1v1 situation. Would love to be able to do something like that online for a change of pace.
