PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is getting ready to launch its full 1.0 release next week on PC. However, the Xbox One version recently arrived through the Xbox Game Preview program. And while that version is set to be in an early access period for a little while longer, that didn't stop one million Xbox One owners from logging into the game in the first 48 hours since it went live.

That's why Microsoft is looking to take advantage of the PUBG phenomenon and looking to use it to push a few new Xbox One X units. Friday morning, the publisher announced that all Xbox One X purchases made between December 17 and December 31 will come with a free copy of PUBG.

The Xbox One X currently retails for $499, so keep that in mind if you want to add this to your budget this holiday season.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
