Perhaps there are people out there that missed last week's Monster Hunter: World online beta, which was open exclusively to PlayStation Plus members. If that's the case (and even if it isn't), then another opportunity to jump back into this world is about to open up.

The Monster Hunter Twitter account revealed on Friday morning that a new beta period is set to begin next week. On top of that, this one will be open to all PlayStation 4 owners. That means there's an even an exception in place that will allow non-PlayStation Plus users to play online.

The beta will begin next Friday, December 22 at 9AM PT and run past Christmas Day, ending on December 26 at 9AM PT. We at Shacknews will have our Hunting Horn ready. This one's only open to PlayStation 4 users, so apologies to Xbox One owners, who will find a lump of coal in their Christmas stocking.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
