For E3 2017, Ubisoft chose to make some anticipated sequels the centerpiece of its show. The reveals of Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2 drew interest from the media and fans. Both of the titles were expected to arrive in early 2018 and greatly expand on the scope of the games that preceded them. In announcement made on the Ubisoft Blog this morning, the company explained that each of the games were being delayed from their initially announced release dates.

Previously expected to hit shelves on February 27 next year, Far Cry 5 will be pushed back one month to March 27. In the blog post, Ubisoft explained the delay.

“For Far Cry 5, the extra time will allow the team at Ubisoft Montreal to make some additional improvements that will bring the best, most ambitious Far Cry experience in line with the team’s original vision. We’re excited for fans to join the Resistance in Hope County, Montana against the Project at Eden’s Gate cult. Tune in to the Ubiblog tomorrow, December 8th at 10pm PST to get the newest look at Far Cry 5.”

The Crew 2 was originally planned to release on March 16 next year, but it has now been pushed back to some time in the first half of Ubisoft’s next fiscal year. The company did not elaborate on the delay, only offering that the development team would use the additional months to fine-tune the experience and work with play testers to get the game in shipping shape.
