This beautiful indie action-adventure is fueled by the lore and myths of India, but the window on Kickstarter is closing rapidly.

Every so often, a game hits the scene with an energy and aura inspired by a specific culture. The debut game from Nodding Head Games aims to do so with Indian culture in Raji: An Ancient Epic and, thus far, it looks like an interesting adventure.

In Raji, you play as a young girl chosen by the gods to fend off a demonic invasion in ancient India. She sets out to rescue her younger brother and face the demon lord Mahabalasura. The gameplay mechanics of this action-adventure centers on what god you choose. Each grants you different elements and allows you to customize your play-style.

In the gameplay trailer, Raji's art pops. The design is ruled by earth-tones with occasional flashes that illuminate some pretty well-designed environments. The game looks like an exciting take on the lore of India and will hopefully come to life after this Kickstarter.

Raji: An Ancient Epic has six days left to go on Kickstarter and hasn't quite reached its target goal. Over 1500 backers have pledged over $60,000, but the window is closing on this intriguing epic. If the team doesn't reach their goal, hopefully, the stars align and we get to see what Raji and Nodding Head Games has to offer. If you want to give it a try, there are demos on Steam and Indie DB.
