Gameplay for the long-awaited Desert map for Playerunknown's Battlegrounds will debut at this year's Game Awards, but the real question is: When will we be able to play it? Today, we're one step closer to getting out hands on this new battlefield. While the vaulting and climbing test server update is now unavailable, the servers will include the desert map and a new shotgun once they're back up.

RockPaperShotgun reported the news, but there's no date on when exactly the newly equipped test servers will go live. It'll be interesting to see who fans take to the new map as PUBG gets nearer to a 1.0 release post-Early Access. Considering the debut during the Game Awards, PUBG Corp could be plotting to set the test servers live during or soon after the show, so be sure to tune in and check back on Shacknews for an update.
