Destiny 2 Hotfix Prepares for Double XP Weekend

A few minor fixes have been implemented into Destiny 2, in preparation for the next few days of Double XP action.

Destiny 2 is preparing for a new expansion in the next month, so now is probably a good time to prepare for that new set of missions. With that said, Destiny 2 has deployed a hotfix for all users, which also gives Bungie an opportunity to remind everyone that a Double XP weekend is almost here.

Bungie first revealed its Double XP weekend plans during last week's news roundup. The Clarion Call is expected to go live tomorrow, November 17 at 10AM PT. All players that work with fellow clan members will earn double XP. While this is meant to encourage Destiny 2 users to join up with a clan, Bungie does note that future Clarion Calls will not require clan affiliations.

As for the hotfix, detailed on the Bungie website, here are the brief patch notes:

General

  • Added Curse of Osiris announcement
  • Fixed an issue with Venture Capital Clan Perk erroneously awarding Faction Rally tokens
  • Fixed a rare crash with the Taken Blight Public Event

Companion

  • Android
    • Added Factions and Collections to the Progress section
    • Improved help search
  • iOS
    • Added Factions and Collections to the Progress section
    • Improved help search
  • Web
    • Improved help search

PC users will also find that any issues surrounding Buffalo errors has been resolved, according to a PC-specific hoftfix.

Destiny 2's Curse of Osiris expansion won't be here until December 5, so if you're playing the game for the first time, maybe browse our Destiny 2 complete strategy guide for some pointers.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
