Here is the full press release:

“Our team has been working hard to develop The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs and The Sims 4 on consoles, and we’re proud to offer rich and rewarding experiences across multiple platforms to our incredible community,” said Maxis General Manager, Joe Nickolls. “Providing fans with a variety of entry points into The Sims universe is a huge priority for us, and we’re optimistic for the opportunities it provides us to grow.”

With The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs, players can design their perfect pet with unique features and personalities, while discovering new activities to enjoy in the charming coastal shores of Brindleton Bay.

“We know how much the community loves their real-life cats and dogs, and we’re so happy they can now bring their beloved four-legged companions into their Sims’ world,” said Lyndsay Pearson, Executive Producer on The Sims. “Cats and dogs have always been such a huge component to any Sims installment, and we’re so excited to finally bring these lovable friends into The Sims 4.”

With the new Create A Pet tool, create and customize the most expressive and distinct pets ever, choosing from a wide variety of cat and dog breeds (or a mix), to give each pet their own unique look. Players can also customize their cat and dog’s coats with a variety of patterns, or directly paint and manipulate their appearance with spots, stripes and details that make each pet truly stand out from the rest.

For the first time ever in The Sims, dress cats and dogs in fun outfits and accessories while experiencing the delightful surprises that pets bring to their Sims’ daily lives. Help Sims form special relationships, train and play games with pets and watch as they exhibit their own personalities, as well as their quintessential animal behaviors. In addition, fans can protect and care for pets by pursuing their veterinarian dreams and opening their very own vet clinic to become the town’s most promising animal doctor.

But that’s not all! On November 17th The Sims 4 will launch on Xbox One and PlayStation® 4 consoles worldwide, ushering in the iconic game players know and love to new platforms. An initial selection of fan-favorite downloadable Packs will also be available for individual purchase at launch, including The Sims 4 City Living Expansion Pack, The Sims 4 Vampires Game Pack, The Sims 4 Perfect Patio Stuff Pack and The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack.

Developed by Maxis and in partnership with the talented team at Blind Squirrel Games, The Sims 4 offers console players the same emotional connection and unique gameplay as the PC base game, along with a number of additional content updates added to the base game post-launch, including pools, new careers, and a toddlers’ life stage. Players will enjoy creating and controlling their Sims from the comfort of the couch as they pick hairstyles, explore life aspirations, and shape the entertaining moments of Sims’ lives.

The Sims 4 is rated ‘T’ for Teen by the ESRB and is available for $49.99 November 17 on Xbox One and PlayStation® 4. The Sims 4 City Living Expansion Pack, The Sim 4 Vampires Game Pack, and The Sims 4 Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack experiences will also be available for purchase as a digital bundle for $49.99.
