Hulu Video Streaming App for Nintendo Switch Will Release Soon on eShop

Nintendo slipped that tidbit of news in their latest PR email blast.

Nintendo Switch owners have been impatiently waiting for video streaming services to come to the hybrid console. The tablet form factor makes it the perfect device for binge watching your favorite shows while you lay in bed. So far, we have not heard a peep about YouTube or Netflix coming to Switch, but today Nintendo slipped us a tiny morsel of hope.

In their latest "Nintendo Download" PR email blast, the company confirmed that Hulu will be coming soon to the eShop on Nintendo Switch.

Clearly, Nintendo didn't think the announcement deserved any hype, but this is somewhat exciting news for fans of video streaming services. Up until now, there was no way for Switch owners to watch video content. Hulu is home to shows like South Park and The Mindy Project, but most Shackers eagerly await the news that Netflix will be coming to Switch as it is the most popular streaming service of them all. Personally, I would like to see YouTube make its way to the platform as well.

    ? It does. LPCM 5.1. It’s great. They even have handy static noise test to make sure you’re good to go.

        Oh, word. I dunno. Had a 3 month trial of Hulu once and booted it like once. I remember seeing that on my A/V but didn’t care enough to bother.

        Not sure about the popularity but there are a lot of shows available that I’d watch. Surround wouldn’t be a big deal for some types of shows but it just sucks that it’s not available. I can’t think of another major streaming service that doesn’t have it. I can even airplay the Cinemax app from my phone to my Apple TV and get it.

        Ya I just did a quick look and sure, we don’t need Dolby Atmos for Charles in Charge (BUT WHAT IF WE DID???) but there is modern 4K content on there. wtf no surround.

        Exactly. Even things like Rick & Morty aren’t a big deal without surround but there are good movies and tv shows that I wouldn’t want to watch without it. It’s fine if you just have a sound bar or tv speakers but it’s jarring after having full surround for years then turning on Hulu and hearing stereo.
