Adapt to the Situation

In the first video, Michael Condrey, Game Director for Call of Duty: WW2, talks about the different Divisions in the game. His favorite is the Airborne, but Michael understands how proper team composition can help you succeed. You might prefer to be Airborne above all else, but sometimes you must adjust your style of play and preferred Division to find success.

Get to Know the Divisions

Call of Duty: WW2 has five Divisions for players to choose from. We’ve already discussed that you’ll most likely land on a favorite, but you can’t do that until you know what each division has to offer. Take some time to get to know each Division and how they complement the various styles of play that gamers are likely to fit into.

Play the Game Modes

As with any PvP heavy game, Call of Duty: WW2 comes armed with various game modes for players to enjoy. New this year is the War mode, but there are lots for you experiment with. Some will become your favorites, and others not so much, but it’s important to try each one so that you get the most out of your Call of Duty: WW2 experience.

Customization is Key

In Call of Duty: WW2, elite players will slowly begin to develop the game’s meta, discovering divisions and customizations that work well on a specific map or game mode. Not all tools are designed to do all jobs. Often, gamers must develop specific loadouts and weapon customizations to fit with some of Call of Duty: WW2’s more demanding situations.

Overwhelming Power

In War mode, players can find themselves trying to escort their tanks down range. While this can be accomplished as infantry, there are powerful tools at your disposal. Try hopping into the gunner position on the tank and taking control of the .50 caliber gun. You can send an awful lot of pain towards your enemies, and have a lot of fun doing it.

Fight Together, Survive Together

Call of Duty: WW2’s most anticipated mode is Nazi Zombies, but it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the undead in any Call of Duty game. To avoid becoming some Nazi Zombie scum’s meal, stick together with your team and work together always. Splitting up and going it alone is a good way to find that a piece of your arm is missing.

Play with Your Friends

As Glen Schofield, Game Director for Sledgehammer Games points out, not everyone (including himself) is the best at those one-on-one battles that require quick reflexes. Some people are better in a support role, which is best enjoyed with friends. For the ultimate feeling of teamwork in Call of Duty: WW2, give War mode a try with some of your closest gaming friends.

Play the Way You Enjoy

As Christopher Stone, Art Director for Sledgehammer Games points out, sometimes you need to use a weapon or class because you enjoy it, and not because it’s part of the meta. There’s nothing wrong with using a weapon because you like the way it looks or sounds. In fact, you are likely to play better if you’re able to immerse yourself in a Division or loadout and really enjoy what you’re playing.

When You Stop Moving, You’re Dead

We know that you need to stick together when you’re playing Nazi Zombies, but the tips go beyond that. You also need to keep moving. The entire threat of a zombie hoard is that it can overwhelm you. If you and your squad are always on the move, always adjusting your position and looking for the tactical advantage, you’ll be just fine. Probably.

Get to Know the Maps

The greatest tip anyone can give you for Call of Duty: WW2 is to get to know the maps. Knowing where your enemy is coming from, or where they’re going, is much more valuable than having the best aim. Spend time exploring and observing your team. Master the lanes and hot spots, then use that knowledge to cut down your foes and climb to the top of the scoreboard.
