There's a new Nintendo Switch game on the horizon, and it's one that should satisfy players with a need for speed as well as those looking for another cooperative hybrid console experience. It's called Mantis Burn Racing, and it's a top-down racer from the developmeant team at VooFoo Studios. In addition to three- and four-player local splitscreen gameplay, Mantis Burn Racing will be the latest in a line of Switch titles that run at a silky-smooth 60 frames per second.

VooFoo Studios has apparently spent some considerable time checking into what's possible with the Switch hardware, and the company's proprietary game engine is one that's been specially-designed to hit the crucial 60 fps mark. Here's the scoop straight from VooFoo's own technology director Mark Williams:

“We’ve been spending a lot of time getting to grips with the capabilities of the Switch — we’ve learnt a lot by digging deeper into the hardware," Williams said. “The Switch’s performance analysis tools have allowed us to understand where frame rate improvements could be made and we’re really pleased to have the game running at a consistently smooth 60fps — we were determined to make the Switch version the best it can be.”

Another feature that Switch fans can look forward to is the game's support for cross-network play. Using the sort of technical wizardry unknown to Sony executives, Mantis Burn Racing players will be capable of enjoying the game's octane-fueled gameplay with their friends across the Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One systems.

Mantis Burn Racing is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam PC, with a Nintendo Switch release "coming soon."
