Are Digital Steam Cards Locking Users Out of The Marketplace?

A user has reported an issue after receiving one of the new digital gift cards.

This week, Valve expanded the gift aspect of their Steam marketplace with digital gift cards. The digital currency is available in the same increments as the physical gift cards and allows users to send their friends funds directly to their Steam wallets. The rollout of this new feature isn't all roses, though, as a user noticed they're locked out the marketplace temporarily after receiving a digital card.

A few hours ago, Reddit user anecdot11 posted about his or her issue: Getting locked from the market for 3 days.

Some are theorizing that this is an effort from Valve to keep people from manipulating the new digital card system in various ways, but we'll have to wait and see what the official word is from Valve.

This story is developing and we'll add more information as it is made available.
