At E3 2017, Bandai Namco Entertainment and Arc System Works showed up with a pleasant surprise for the fighter game community. Dragon Ball FighterZ stole the show and absorbed the hype for Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite almost entirely. After a couple beta tests, the devs are finally revealing the release date and you won't have to wait for long. Dragon Ball FighterZ will release in the US on January 26, 2018.

In typical fashion for such a high-profile fighter, roster additions have been regularly announced over time and there are pre-order and platform specific characters as well. Today's release date announcement also comes with the news that Arc System Works will be offering a FighterZ Pass for Dragon Ball FighterZ, essentially working as a season pass for all future characters added to the game. The press release shares that there are eight total released post-launch. The digital Ultimate Edition of the game will include the FighterZ Pass, an anime music pack with 11 songs from the show, and a commentator voice pack. Prices for the Ultimate Edition and standalone FighterZ Pass haven't been revealed yet.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will launch for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. PS4 and Xbox One players that pre-order will get early access to Super Saiyan God versions of Goku and Vegeta along with exclusive lobby avatars and a Girls stamp Pack.
