In some somewhat shocking news, it's been announced that media company IGN has acquired Humble Bundle. The company announced just last month that it'd raised over $100 million, but it seems like some parties think there's room for improvement. The devil's in the details, though, as Humble states that they will continue to operate independently with no significant business or staffing changes.

Gamasutra reported on the news and it's said that Humble will have some support from IGN specifically for "accelerating growth and raising more money for charity." IGN's executive VP told Gamasutra that a deal like this was being discussed roughly a year ago.

"If it's not broken, don't fix it," said Galbraith. "The idea is just to feed them with the resources they need to keep doing what they're doing."
