by Steve Gibson, Oct 29, 2000 7:32am PSTHey neeto, scored an extra hour of sleep. Well our bong toting friend should be showing up late tonight. He claimed something about a family trip with his parents but given the number of calls I've gotten from government officials about his 'activities' that seems doubtful. The neeto new interface tricks for funk.y seem to be working pretty well (just change the funk.y?thread url to funk.y?dthread to see), still tracking down some compatibility problems but overall I think it's a success. The savings on load times are nice. I think you guys who use flat mode will like the new feature coming into flat mode soon as well. Went to a halloween party last night, I managed to make a complete ass of myself and there are pictures to prove it. Gary should hopefully send those pics over in a few days. I wont tell you what I was dressed as. The special lady friend was a dark angel. (Excuse to wear a wig and a tight dress.. heh) Hey careful man! There's a beverage here!

K. I finally beat the Operation Chronostorm mission (last one in the Allied campaign). A few thoughts on the game:
1. It's a fun game, but not very challenging in SP mode till the last mission (at least in normal difficulty).
2. It's pretty short.
3. Being as how this is the 1st game I've bought in a loooong time that I was actually excited about playing through all the way (it's the first game I've actually finished in over a year), I'm pretty satisfied with it. Recommended.
Now for some skirmish & multiplayer games... :)

The Moscow mission (Operation Chronostorm) in RA2 is breaking my balls!
I was inside my home, and I looked through the window to my backyard. For some reason, I had my computer stationed on the patio. There was a lightning storm going on at the time. I can't remember why I felt the need to go outside, and tend to the computer amidst the lightning, but I felt I had to, so I did. As I sat down outside at my computer, I began thinking of the power of God, how he could take my life at any minute. Now that I think about it, maybe the computer represented my vices (we all do naughty things with our computers). Whilst contemplating how my life could end abruptly, I looked up into the gray storm clouds. All of the sudden, a small bright spot appeared inbetween a couple clouds, and grew to be a huge lightning rod racing towards me at 100000 miles an hour. It's like, if someone through a football at your face, you'd see the ball as a small object but as it approached your face, it would grow to be huge, until it hit you. Anyway, the lightning rod came slamming down on me, and I felt a surge of pain run through my body and was simoultaneously knocked out of my chair. This pain I felt was very real. It was like I was in the matrix, and what my mind thinks is going on, my body feels. And then, stunned and writhing in pain, laying on the concrete patio, I looked up into the sky again, and another bolt of lightning appeared and shot down. Just before the bolt hit me (it seemed to be coming straight for my face -- again, imagine the football thing I described), I suddenly woke up, but I still felt the pain run through me, and I spasmed on the couch I was sleeping on.
