Mobile VR hardware was the first effort to democratize the virtual reality market and Google has been quite instrumental with their Cardboard and Daydream offerings. Now, the headset is getting a facelift to go along with the new Pixel 2 smartphone.  Dubbed the Daydream View, Google's new VR headset hopes to bring the VR experience to even more users.

Covered in cloth matching the Google Home Mini that was also announced today, the Daydream View also sports an upgraded lens that enhances the VR experience. Much like the Home Mini puck, the Daydream View will also come in three different fabric colors: chalk, coral, and charcoal.

The Daydream hardware update will also arrive with an array of all-new VR content for consumption. Google will be launching exclusive VR content for Youtube and the Google Play store will be offering special movies in the IMAX format. The Daydream View headset will allow users to experience the large-format movies and content in the comfot of their own homes. The Daydream View will launch at $99.
