Stardew Valley Release Date for Switch is Sooner Than You Think

After going gold on Nintendo Switch a release date announcement was expected, but not quite THIS announcement.

A release date for Stardew Valley on the Nintendo Switch was teased earlier this morning and we now have an ironclad release date for the indie farming sim after it went gold just last week. Those craving some crops won't have to wait long, either, as it will be releasing this Thursday, October 5.

The Nintendo Switch is rocketing toward a major sales milestone and indie experiences like Stardew Valley are playing a significant supporting role. Nintendo is well aware of the value of indies too, as seen with the recent Nindies showcase dedicated entirely to the charming third-party creations.

I hope the gamepad controls are good. They were junk on the PC. How was it on other consoles?

Yeah I was shocked by how bad the controller support was, but then, it's $15, can't really complain about the value I'm getting here

Can't speak from experience but I think I remember reading that they were the same on consoles. Hopefully they improved that for the Switch release but I'm not holding my breath. Didn't stop me from loving the game.

It stopped me from loving the game :)

Just trying to gamepad for my leisure games to cut back on RSI, and this is the kind of game I want to kick back on the couch with.

Bought on PC and only played for a few hours, loved it though, I'll probably buy and play on switch too
