Netflix is a popular app that is part of the package when you buy numerous devices, and even comes built into a lot of smart televisions. You can download it for your tablets and phones, stream on your current consoles (including Wii U, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4), kick back and enjoy a viewing party on PC, and probably plug a USB cable into a rock and catch up on your queue in the remote Amazon jungle. You can’t yet enjoy it on your Nintendo Switch, however.

That situation may be about to change. A Netflix customer service representative reportedly told GoNintendo community member KamehamehaX that Netflix is “locked and loaded” for Switch. Before an app can appear on Switch, however, Nintendo must grant approval. That’s the last step before you’ll be able to use the popular service on Nintendo’s sensational hardware.

Although GoNintendo’s story doesn’t do more than report the rumor, KamehamehaX commented to say that “I submitted the screen capture of the chat log with the rep to RMC this morning, so at least I have proof that the rep said it.”

It’s worth noting that customer service representatives have a long history of getting things wrong, but this claim is still credible, given the Netflix app’s ubiquity and the Nintendo Switch console’s current popularity. Nintendo may simply be waiting to let the service reach the device until some other moving pieces have settled into place (such as competing streaming services, or Nintendo’s online service that is due next year).
