COD: Infinite Warfare Retribution DLC Releases First on PS4

PlayStation 4 will be the only place to find Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Retribution DLC for some time after its release later next week.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Retribution will release on PlayStation 4 on September 12, 2017. The DLC, which serves as the fourth map pack for Infinite Warfare, will arrive on PC and Xbox One at a later date that remains unspecified.

Retribution includes four new multiplayer maps, as well as the final zombies co-op experience, titled The Beast from Beyond. That adventure takes place in an abandoned military base located on a distant ice planet, a reminder of just how far the Call of Duty series has removed itself from the early World War 2 experiences (though the series will go back to that well later this year with Call of Duty: WWII).

“Our team has had so much fun this year creating content for the Infinite Warfare community,” said Dave Stohl, Studio Head of Infinity Ward. “So with Retribution, it’s the culmination of our thrilling zombies storyline, where players will head to a new setting with tons of surprises, and find out what evil force has been pulling the strings all along. For multiplayer fans, we’re delivering four new maps that really showcase combat rig abilities and great gameplay. September 12 can’t come soon enough.”

In The Beast from Beyond, you’ll once again have a chance to get to know the villainous Willard Wyler, who looks and sounds like Paul Reubens (best known for his various portrayals of Pee-Wee over the years). Wyler is a wicked director, and players will have to work together to escape his set and find freedom once and for all. Other voice talent includes Seth Green, Ike Barinholtz, Jay Pharoah, and Sasheer Zamata.

The four new maps are Carnage, Heartland (a re-imagining of the Call of Duty: Ghosts map, Warhawk), Altitude, and Depot 22. The last of the quartet lets players wall-run along a moving train, or battle in close quarters at a violent cantina.

Though Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare didn’t sell well compared to Black Ops III, it still found a large audience that will likely greet the new DLC with open arms. Then it will be time for a whole new addiction when Call of Duty: WWII arrives on November 3rd. Do you plan to enlist for more Call of Duty?
