All 25 songs will be usable in Rock Band 4, however, at no additional charge.

If you haven't tried out Harmonix's Rock Band Blitz on PS3 and Xbox 360 yet, you better hurry. The developer of the sans instruments musical arcade game will be pulling it from the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on August 28 at the latest.

"It's not backwards compatible on either Xbox One or PlayStation 4 (nor will it be in the future), but all 25 songs on the soundtrack can be brought over to Rock Band 4 at no additional charge," the company said in a forum post on the company site. The move will affect the full game and the demo. All of the songs for the game had previously been released as DLC, and will remain on PSN and Xbox Live until further notice.

If you want to bring the songs over to Rock Band 4, Harmonix has set up a page with instructions

As a side note: is it just me or does anyone else think of this Sweet song when they hear the name Rock Band Blitz?

The Rock Band franchise celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. Harmonix continues to release DLC for Rock Band 4, its latest including Black Horror from Arctic Seas, and (You're) Breakin' Up by The Black Cheers. The two tracks came out today exclusively for Rock Band 4's Rivals expansion.

I bet he means Ballroom Blitz Yep, but it's always the Wayne's World cover when I think of that song.

Shame. I'd love to see a new version with new songs. It was much better than the shitty Amplitude game last year (which I'm still sad about, given my love for the OG Amplitude and its predecessor).

It sucks that series got sank when they couldn't or didn't support the old PS3/360 instruments on PS4/Xbone.

I wasn't about to sink another pile of money into plastic instruments. :/

It did support some (most?) of them. Xbox one required a USB dongle and on PS4 I think it just needed the same USB dongle that was used with the PS3.

They DID support them. From day one. You obviously weren't paying attention.

I had a wired drum kit. Adapter only worked with wireless.

Nah, there were a few of the older instruments that they wouldn't support. I couldn't use the Xplorer guitar that I had been using since RB1. Basically killed the game for me.
