Ubisoft has revealed two new heroes that will join the For Honor lineup when season three content arrives on August 15, 2017. Additionally, the publisher noted that new maps, gear, and tournaments will accompany the lineup expansion.

The two new hero types are the Highlander and the Gladiator, which fight for the Knight and the Viking factions. They’re just the latest additions to a lineup that started with 12 unique heroes.

Highlanders carry claymores, which reach further than typical swords and have added weight. The players who wield them can switch between two styles: defensive and offensive, which prioritize counter-attacks and deadly strikes, respectively.

Gladiators are more agile fighters, thanks to the light armor they wear. A larger stamina meter and shorter cooldown periods allow them to stun their adversaries with a flurry of quick blows.

If you want to use the two new Heroes, you’ll need to spend 15,000 Steel apiece, or you can access them at no cost as a Season Pass holder on August 15. At the same time, the Sentinel and Viking Village maps will become available to everyone, complete with new environmental hazards that include a ballista and barrel.

In terms of equipment, the update brings new gear with a legendary rarity level. The reputation cap for heroes is being raised to 40, allowing further customization, and there will be other gameplay updates that aim to create a superior balance between defensive and offensive play styles.

For Honor originally launched on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in February of this year, and made quite the impact at the time. It remains an exciting attraction that is working to deliver the promise we saw in our review. Have you tried the game yet?
