Batman has been hard to miss these last few years, appearing not only in comics but in popular movies and games. One of the most successful interactive options in recent years was Batman: The Telltale Series, which presented an episodic series of adventures depicting Bruce Wayne’s adventures in and out of the famous suit.

Telltale Games today announced a second season, titled Batman: The Enemy Within – The Telltale Series, which presents five all-new episodes that will start appearing on August 8, 2017. Episodes will be available periodically, arriving first on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Mac. They will come to iOS and Android-based devices later in the year, as well.

The Enemy Within is a standalone product, so you won’t need to have played the previous season to enjoy the new one. However, choices you may have made the last time around can carry over if you wish them to. The game also supports Telltale’s ‘Crowd Play’ feature (first introduced in Batman: The Telltale Series, so friends and family can use mobile devices to vote for choices you make as the adventure progresses.

The story centers once more on Bruce Wayne as he “undertakes a perilous series of deceptions.” He will also appear as Batman, and must deal with threats that include The Riddler, the Joker, and even the arrival of a ruthless federal agent. You’ll have to decide who you can trust, but the game also poses less obvious questions: how bad will you allow Batman to be, and at what cost?

Like the first season, this new one is rendered to resemble a comic book. It also features a returning voice cast that includes Troy Baker as Bruce Wayne, along with Anthony Ingruber as The Joker.

You will be able to purchase Batman: The Enemy Within – The Telltale Series online, or check your local retailer for a console version ‘Season Pass Disc’ that includes the first episode and access to additional ones as they become available.
