Total War: Warhammer 2 Introduces the Malevolent Dark Elves

They have a few scores to settle with their high and mighty High Elf brethren

Everyone has a relative or two that may be considered the black sheep of the family. Unfortunately, the High Elves of Total War: Warhammer 2 have a whole race that fit that description. A new trailer reveals the Dark Elves, and they have a score to settle with their high-and-mighty kin.

Under the catchy tagline "It only takes a cinder for a phoenix to rise," Creative Assembly and Sega take the wraps off the race, showing Witch King Malekith and his Morathi laying waste to a High Elven city, with Malekith showing off some of his potent powers in dispatching a garrison of High Elf warriors and archers with both a weapon and magic.

The Dark Elves will be one of the four playable races coming in the next installment of the Total War: Warhammer series. As with any Dark Elves from your lore of choice, they are self-serving, conniving, and quick to jump on and devour any leader that shows a hint of weakness. The game will be coming out on PC sometime in September.

Check out the new trailer below, and if you want more details on the game play, watch our E3 interview with Al Bickham, Creative Assembly's development communications manager.
