EVO 2017: Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite exhibition unveils Gamora and Jedah

The Guardians of the Galaxy and Darkstalkers will each get one more representative in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, as Evo 2017 spectators were treated to a special exhibition on Sunday morning.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is a few months away from its retail release, but Capcom still has a few character reveals left in its pocket. Following Sunday morning's Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 grand finals at Evo 2017, Peter "Combofiend" Rosas took the stage with UMvC3 legend Ryan "Filipino Champ" Ramirez for an exhibition. But given Combofiend's position at Capcom, he had a few extra tricks up his sleeve in the form of new characters, bringing out Gamora from "Guardians of the Galaxy" and Jedah from Darkstalkers.

Gamora was first seen during the MvC:I story trailer back at E3 2017, but this is the first gameplay footage of Thanos' daughter. She is mainly a sword-based fighter, but also utilizes short-range dagger attacks and blasters from afar.

Jedah makes his debut in the Capcom Vs. series in Infinite and it looks like he brought all of his attacks along with him. Scythe attacks and pinwheel attacks are all here and they cause massive damage, with Combofiend also showing off how his attacks work within the tag format, as well as with the game's Infinity Stone mechanic. Nothing spells doom quite like getting trapped in the Space Stone's confines while Jedah unleashes his pinwheel hyper combo.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
