The Steam Summer Sale is a big deal each year, revealing some tremendous saving on popular games for players, which likely generating a ton of extra revenue for Valve and developers in sales that wouldn't normally happen. This year's sale has yet to be officially announced, but a PayPal tweet may have stolen some launch thunder from Valve.

The UK Paypal Twitter account revealed that the sale is scheduled to start on June 22 at 6 p.m. British Standard Time, which equates to 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET. The tweet also revealed a discount for PayPal users, which could equate to about $5 if the UK discount gets applied in the States. A reddit user leaked a similar date last month from the Steamworks developers group.

This isn't the first time Valve has had someone out them ahead of schedule. The Autumn and Winter sales last year leaked early, and were later confirmed through various sources prior to the event.

If you need any inspiration at all for this year's sale, draw it from this rather awesome fan-made video from last year,
