Shigeru Miyamoto was on hand at Ubisoft's press conference to give the official unveiling of the new Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle, exclusively for Nintendo Switch. The game will be released on August 29.

The game has been rumored for a while, and was a bit of a surprise in its craziness. But Miyamoto was onboard with it as long as it wasn't a platformer. In creating the tactical adventure game, Miyamoto told Ubisoft that he wanted them to "Make a Mario game that's never been made before," and he seems rather happy with the result.

The turn-based RPH has the Rabbids transported into the Mushroom Kingdom, but that event has made it a bit unstable. They team up with Mario to save the Kingdom. Mario, Peach, Luigi and Yoshi team up with some similarly attired Rabbids and with some silly guns to take on enemy Rabbids.

The game offers plenty of humor and it looks like it will be rather fun to play. You'll get more of an update when we get some hands-on play during the show.
