Developer Ghost Games had told us that they were working on a new Need for Speed, but details were few, except for customization and a much-requested offline mode. But, with E3 right around the corner, it appears now was the right time to officially announce Need for Speed Payback, coming on November 10.

The new title will feature characters Tyler, Mac and Jess trying to get revenge against an crime syndicate known as the house. Players will use challenges and events to be able to customize their new ride from broken down derelict to a sweet street machine.

Pre-orders for Need for Speed Payback will get the Platinum car pack, which includes the following customized vehicles:

  • Nissan 350Z 2008
  • Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967
  • Dodge Charger R/T 1969
  • Ford F-150 Raptor 2016
  • Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016

The Deluxe edition, which will sell for $79.99, will give players everything in the platinum pack, plus three days of early access to the game, a special license plate, in-game discounts, and rep bonuses. EA Access and EA Origin members will get a 10% discount on the game.

There will also be a 10-hour demo for the game coming on November 2 through EA Access and Origin Access. There is no word on if progress will carry through to the game when it launches, although most demos are allowing that these days.

Need for Speed Payback will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Awesome I can't wait for this, part of me thinks it could actually be better than Forza Horizon 3(which owns btw).

I always thought Need for Speed Rivals had the base to be epic if they expanded on it, I hope they pull it off.

The fact it has a offline mode and the focus is SP gets my juices flowing, I can't wait.

Also makes me wonder if Horizon 4 will be announced at E3?

I wonder at what point EA stops dancing around it and just licenses The Fast and the Furious?
