Remastered Vanquish for PC Out Now on Steam

If you didn't pre-order, your chance at the Digital Deluxe Edition is now gone.

True to its word, Sega has launched the remastered sci-fi shooter Vanquish for PC today. It's out now on Steam for $19.99.

If you were a savvy enough shopper to pre-order, you got a bunch of extra goodies, such as a soundtrack sampler of five clips, character and enemy avatars, art book and wallpapers. However, that deal ended once the game launched, but you can still jump into the action with the standard game.

Sega has been pushing out remastered classics as part of a new strategy to rekindle interest in older games. It reworked Bayonetta on PC last month, and promises that more games are in the pipeline to be redone in 4K resolution and usable with mouse and keyboard.

Any shackers have first hand experience with the quality of the port?

Can't find much yet, SEGA has a thread on the steam forums mentioning unsupported fov control and ultrawide options via command line so that's something, I've not really seen any mention of the mouse input yet, and seen some murmurs that performance isn't that great for a game from 7 years ago. One would expect a 360 era title to fly on PC hardware, even way back then.

Well it was always a really intense 360 title. It ran at a reduced horizontal resolution from normal 720p (1024 instead of 1280) and dipped into the 20's often in hectic situations. But yeah, if it was optimized perfectly, I think 60fps at 1440p on a 1050Ti would be expected. Unfortunately, that's not the case. I think you'd actually need a 1060 to do that.
